Industry templates Ten industry templates, ready on day one

Each template is an industry pack inside the product: an event list, metric formulas, dashboards and funnels installed together. Add the snippet, pick your industry, map a few required events, and the business dashboard fills the same day. No tracking plan to write first.

  • 10 industry packs
  • 111 predefined events
  • 159 metrics with formulas
  • 18 business dashboards

Ten templates power eleven industry solutions; the cross-border solution reuses the ecommerce pack.

Pack 01

Ecommerce & retail

The full transaction line from item view to payment and refund, with GMV, average order value, add-to-cart rate and refund rate ready on install.

Built for

  • Standalone stores, shopping mini programs and brand apps
  • Multi-store retail that ranks stores as groups
  • Teams already on the Ecommerce & revenue module who want funnels and retention

Search / view item → add to cart → checkout → purchase → refund. Event names match the default mapping of the Ecommerce & revenue module (view_item / add_to_cart / begin_checkout / purchase / refund), so a store that already has that module gets data immediately. purchase and refund must be sent from the server, deduplicated by order number as insert_id. Multi-store retail treats each store as a group.

Subjects

Buyer· personStore· groupItem· property

Example scenario: A DTC brand moved purchase to a server-side call deduplicated by order number. GMV matched the order system within 0.3%, and refund rate sat next to GMV on one dashboard for the first time.

Install in three steps

No tracking plan needed first. After the snippet is in, three steps get the dashboard filled the same day.

Install this template
  1. 1Open Industry packsIn the console go to All-platform analytics › Business › Industry packs. All ten packs are listed with their install status.
  2. 2Install the templatePick Ecommerce & retail and install: 2 dashboards, 2 funnels and every metric are created at once; events start with their default names.
  3. 3Map the required eventsThis pack has 4 required events: view_item add_to_cart begin_checkout purchase。Of these, purchase refund can only be sent from the server; use the order or document number as insert_id to deduplicate.

Metric names, formulas and dashboards can all be edited after install. Reinstalling never overwrites your changes.

How templates work

Install, map events, get dashboards

A template is not a static screenshot. It is a set of definitions that update with your data: events, metrics, dashboards and funnels reference each other, so a change in one place applies everywhere.

  1. 1

    Install the pack

    Events, metrics, dashboards and funnels are created in one go. Metric definitions are saved as formulas you can read and edit at any time.

  2. 2

    Map your events

    Already using your own event names? Map them to the pack’s events, no code change. Missing required events are flagged on the dashboard.

  3. 3

    Dashboards fill in

    Once mapped, dashboards, funnels and retention backfill from existing data. Revenue metrics like GMV and MRR complete as server events arrive.

Traceable definitionsEvery metric states its TOTALS / UNIQUES / PROPSUM formula, identical to the console’s metric library.
Subjects and rankingsAccounts, stores, campuses and agents are groups, so rankings and group retention work on install.
Updated with releasesPack upgrades only add; they never overwrite your edits. Changes are listed in the product changelog.
Customize and export

The template is a starting point, not a ceiling

Every definition in a pack can be changed: rename it, edit the formula, add a breakdown by channel or store, or export the results to your own warehouse.

  • Edit metrics: duplicate a metric and change its formula, e.g. average order value net of refunds; the original stays
  • Add breakdowns: any dashboard card splits by channel, platform, country or group without rebuilding the board
  • Add events: custom events outside the template are tracked as usual and can go straight into funnels and formulas
  • Export: dashboards and reports to CSV, metrics by day through the Query API, and MCP so an AI assistant can query them directly

Example scenario: A retail team duplicated the ecommerce pack’s checkout completion as a per-store metric split by group=store, spotted an abnormal QR-payment failure rate at two stores and fixed the POS configuration the same day.

  "formula": "TOTALS(purchase) / TOTALS(begin_checkout) * 100",
  "format": "percent",
  "breakdown": ["channel", "group:store"]
}

Edit a metric

  1. DuplicateCopy “Average order value” in the metric library
  2. Change the formulaNumerator becomes PROPSUM(purchase.revenue) − PROPSUM(refund.revenue)
  3. Add a breakdownSplit by group:store and save as a dashboard card

FAQ

Questions about industry templates

The questions we hear most before an install.

Still have a question?

Chat with the team behind TapCub — we usually reply within a few hours on business days.

Will installing a template change my existing data or dashboards?

No. Installing only adds the pack’s metrics, dashboards and funnels. Existing dashboards, events and custom metrics stay as they are. Event mapping links your current event names to pack events without altering historical data.

My event names are different from the template’s. What now?

Map your existing events to the pack’s events in Event mapping; one pack event can take several of yours. Funnels and retention backfill from existing data once mapping is done, no need to wait for new events.

Which events must be sent from the server?

Events that carry amounts or documents: purchase and refund in ecommerce, subscriptions and payments in SaaS, deposits and policies in finance, enrollment payments in education. Amounts must come from the back end, and the order number as insert_id prevents double counting.

Can I install more than one pack?

Yes. Schools often install Education together with Lead gen. Events from different packs do not conflict, and a shared event such as lead_submit uses one set of data.

Do the metric definitions here match the console’s metric library?

Yes. The events, formulas, dashboard cards and funnel steps on this page are generated from the same pack definitions the product uses. Pack names are stored in Chinese in the console; the English interface shows translations.

Are templates available on the Free plan?

Yes. All ten packs install on every plan. Plans differ in data retention (Free 6 months, Pro 12 months, VIP 24 months and more) and event quota; the pricing page has the full table.
