Analytics & chat comparison How to choose between TapCub and other tools
Most teams end up with three products: a counter for traffic, a product analytics platform for funnels, and a chat tool for support. TapCub does the three jobs with one 2 KB snippet. These pages compare it with each category — by traits, not by brand.
- Category comparisons, no vendor names
- First chart in minutes, no tracking plan
- Free plans for analytics and chat
Pick the category you use today
Each page has a one-line verdict, a 10–14 row comparison table, the most-asked feature scenarios, a migration guide and how pricing models differ.
Web analytics tools
Pageview counters and traffic dashboards — often cookie-based, with bots and humans mixed together.
- Cookie banners and consent
- Bots, AI crawlers and real visitors
- Where funnels and retention come from
Product analytics platforms
Event-based platforms built for product teams — powerful, but usually start with a tracking plan and a data owner.
- Tracking plan vs. autocapture
- Who owns the data model
- Seat- and event-based pricing
Live chat tools
Chat widgets and inboxes sold per agent seat — usually blind to what the visitor did before saying hello.
- Visitor context next to the conversation
- AI answers and two-way translation
- Per-seat pricing vs. a free plan
Ten dimensions, five categories
Based on publicly documented product traits of each category. Individual vendors differ; none are named.

Four things you will notice on day one
Not a longer feature list — a different starting point.
Humans and bots are separate numbers
Five layers of rules (UA, headers, client signals, ASN, frequency) and 197+ signatures. AI crawlers get their own ledger, so a traffic spike never fools you twice.
No tracking plan to write
Autocapture records clicks, submits and scrolls from the first minute. AI groups them into named events; you confirm in the inbox. Code only when an event needs a business field.
Analytics, insights and chat on one snippet
About 2 KB, loaded asynchronously. The chat agent sees the visitor’s pages, source and campaign; the analytics side sees which conversations led to orders.
Prices you can read in one line
Analytics: Free, $9, $29, $79 a month. Chat: Free, $12, $39, $99. Pay yearly and get 40% off. No per-seat multiplication, no quote to request.
Keep your current tool running. Add TapCub beside it.
Migration is a week of overlap, not a cut-over. The guide covers Google Analytics 4 and Baidu Tongji exports, UTM continuity and how to read the differences.
- Run both for a week — compare the trend shape, not the exact totals
- Expect a lower visitor count — bots are removed, so 48,213 humans may replace 60,000 "users"
- Keep every UTM link — source, medium and campaign are read the same way
- Recreate goals as events — the AI inbox suggests most of them from autocapture
Migration checklist · 7 days
- 1Day 1 · Install the snippetPaste before or use the WordPress, Shopify or Webflow plugin. Leave the old tag in place.
- 2Day 2–6 · Compare trendsDaily visitors should rise and fall together. Totals will differ — TapCub counts humans only.
- 3Day 5 · Recreate goals and funnelsConfirm AI-suggested events. Rebuild the 2–3 funnels you actually look at.
- 4Day 7 · Switch dashboardsShare the new dashboard with the team, then remove the old tag and its cookie banner if nothing else needs it.
Questions about these comparisons
Still have a question?
Chat with the team behind TapCub — we usually reply within a few hours on business days.
Why do you compare categories instead of naming products?
Named comparisons age quickly and need legal review for every claim. Category traits — cookie banners, tracking plans, seat pricing — are stable and verifiable. Each category page tells you which page to read for your situation.
Which page should I read first?
If you mostly look at traffic reports, start with web analytics tools. If you build funnels and retention charts, read product analytics platforms. If you run a support inbox, go to live chat tools.
Will my visitor numbers match the tool I use today?
Usually not, and the gap is the point. TapCub removes bots and AI crawlers before counting and does not depend on cookies, so totals are lower and trends are cleaner. Why UV never matches walks through the reasons.
Do I have to switch everything at once?
No. Analytics, product insights and chat are enabled separately. Many teams add TapCub for the bot split first and move the chat inbox a month later.
Can TapCub replace an enterprise analytics platform?
For most marketing and product questions, yes — funnels, retention, paths, attribution, SQL. If you need a dedicated implementation team and custom data warehouses, TapCub Enterprise is the right conversation.
How is pricing different?
TapCub prices by site tier, not by seat or by raw event count. Analytics starts free and goes to $9, $29 and $79 a month; chat starts free and goes to $12, $39 and $99. Details on pricing.
